VIT Bhopal University celebrated its 6th Annual Convocation on Saturday, October 4, 2025, conferring degrees upon a large graduating class: 2572 undergraduates, 503 postgraduates, and 18 Doctorates. The ceremony was presided over by the Honourable Chancellor of VIT Bhopal, Dr. G. Viswanathan, who administered the pledge to the graduating students. The event's distinguished Chief Guest was Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), who delivered an inspiring address. He underscored the vital and often-overlooked connection between culture and science in education, arguing that while science provides the tools for progress, it is culture that provides the ethical framework, values, and identity to guide their use. Dr. Joshi lauded VIT Bhopal as a modern gurukul, a place where traditional values blend seamlessly with modern technology. Also gracing the occasion was Mr. Apurv Agrawal, Co-Founder & CEO of SquadStack, who served as the Guest of Honour and motivated the new graduates to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Joshi's address was a rich exploration of India's holistic educational traditions, drawing parallels from the ancient Gurukula system which nurtured the body, mind, and spirit through a blend of scriptures, sciences, arts, and philosophy. He emphasized that timeless Indian disciplines like yoga, meditation, and classical arts sharpen the intellect and build resilience, while foundational values such as Ahimsa (non-violence) and Satya (truth) remain crucial moral anchors for society. By citing examples of India's diverse cultural heritage—from the Bhakti traditions to martial arts and weaving—he passionately asserted that cultural rootedness is not a limitation but an anchor of strength, empowering youth to face the future with wisdom and confidence. The Convocation was also attended by key university officials and esteemed guests, including Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Vice President, Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan, Assistant Vice President, and motivational speaker Malavika Joshi.
The University's commitment to excellence was further highlighted by Ms. Kadhambari S. Viswanathan, Assistant Vice President of VIT Bhopal, who shared impressive placement statistics. Despite global economic challenges, VIT Bhopal has maintained a commendable track record. For the Class of 2025, over 1350 registered students successfully secured job offers, with the highest package reaching a remarkable ₹51 lakh per annum and over 575 students receiving 'dream' or 'super dream' offers from global giants like Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon. Looking ahead, the placement season for the Class of 2026 is already showing great promise, with the top package having surpassed ₹56 LPA, offered by Zomato. Ms. Kadhambari expressed confidence in achieving even greater success, noting that the university continues to secure international placements, thereby strengthening its global footprint.
