Chennai: Renowned folk singers Senthil Ganesh and Rajalakshmi have candidly spoken about their deeply personal spiritual journey and the significance of Kuladeivam (family deity) worship, exclusively for the Aanmeegaglitz YouTube channel. They emotionally shared how the blessings of their Kuladeivam supported them every step of the way in their lives.
Kuladeivam – Like a Family Member:
Senthil Ganesh and Rajalakshmi's Kuladeivam is Urumanatha Swamy (a deity with five entrances) and Mangal Nayaki Amman, located in Perungalur, Pudukkottai district, on the Thanjavur road. "We never begin any auspicious work without first performing a puja at our Kuladeivam temple," they assert. Senthil Ganesh mentioned that he even keeps a photograph of his Kuladeivam in his wallet and under his pillow at home. Rajalakshmi emotionally shared, "This is the deity our ancestors have worshipped for generations. We 100% believe that they are always present in our actions."
Support in Hardship, Gratitude in Joy:
For them, spirituality isn't just about rushing to the temple during tough times. "When difficulties arise, we light a lamp at home and cry. But when good things happen, we go directly to the temple to express our gratitude. When we stand before God and say, 'You have fulfilled such a big dream for us, please always be with us,' we feel immensely positive," says Rajalakshmi. Senthil Ganesh adds, "We view God as a parent. We have felt His care for us a hundred times."
Journeys of Divine Grace:
They recounted several instances where, even when unable to visit a temple during travels due to negative feelings or fear, they would unexpectedly come across a Kuladeivam temple or another shrine in the town they were performing in. They would then seize the opportunity to perform a puja before leaving. "In such moments, it feels as if our Kuladeivam is blessing us in this way," Senthil Ganesh remarked.
Some Miraculous Examples:
- The Story of Hanuman: Just as Hanuman carried his devotee when he couldn't walk during a difficult time, Senthil Ganesh and Rajalakshmi emotionally shared how God has supported them many times in their lives. "When I can walk, I walk, and you follow. When I can't, you carry me," they feel.
- Financial Growth: Before their Super Singer journey, despite not being financially well-off, they had a noble intention to help others. One day, they casually expressed, "It would be nice if God made us a little more affluent so we could help people." Shortly after this casual conversation, God unexpectedly elevated them financially to the next level.
- Fulfilled Life: "Many things like building a house and marriage happened seamlessly through God's grace. He has given me everything I asked for without any कमी (shortage). I have full faith that He will continue to do so," Senthil Ganesh affirmed.
- Purattasi Perumal Arch: Once, during the Purattasi month's Perumal worship, it occurred to them that a temporary arch for the deity would look good. Realizing it would be expensive, they made a wish: if God granted them enough financial abundance the following year, they would build the arch. The very next year, they received many times more than what was needed and immediately built the arch for the worship. They shared that many such incidents have happened in their lives.
A Request to All:
Senthil Ganesh and Rajalakshmi, who describe spirituality as deeply ingrained in them, emphasize that Kuladeivam worship is like having a family member with you, and it brings forth the blessings of your ancestors. "For everyone who has devotion to God, please make sure to find and worship your Kuladeivam. Good things will surely happen in your life," they earnestly requested.
